From the President — August 2026

One of my favorite things about working in public relations is that we get to witness a little bit of magic.
We help organizations solve problems, build trust, inspire action and change behavior. We launch products, navigate crises, strengthen communities and tell stories that matter. Then we move on to the next challenge, often without taking time to reflect on what we accomplished.
August is a great time to change that.
As we (reluctantly) begin shifting our mindset from summer to fall, it's the perfect opportunity to take stock of the work you've accomplished this year. Which campaigns made a measurable difference? What results exceeded expectations? Gather your metrics, save client or stakeholder testimonials and capture the insights that made your strategy successful.
Next month, Minnesota PRSA members will get an inside look at one of those success stories when Padilla presents the strategy behind its 2026 Classics Best in Show campaign, Sea-to-Table Restaurant Week, which transformed consumer behavior and boosted sales for Seafood from Norway. It's also a great time to revisit our 2024 and 2025 Best in Show winners and explore PRSA's Silver Anvil-winning campaigns for inspiration.
Whether your goal is the PRWeek Awards, Minnesota PRSA Classics or PRSA Silver Anvils, celebrating great work isn't about collecting trophies. It's about recognizing excellence, learning from one another and elevating our profession.
So my August ask is simple: start telling the story behind your best work.

Warmly,
Grete Lavrenz, MA, APR
